A few weeks ago we visited the beautiful city of Red Wing, Minnesota, where, apart from the factory Red Wing, S.B. Foot Tanning Co. - the main supplier of leather for Red Wing Shoe Company. S. B. Foot Tanning Co. was founded by Silas B. Foot and George Sterling in 1872. In 1905 Tannery began to deliver the leather to local "Shoe Jobber" Charles Beckman. Charles founded Red Wing Shoe Company to produce the shoes and boots. The combination of good leather and craftsmanship led to a partnership that continues till today.
